If you love the concept of Top Golf but golf isn’t your strong suit, then the new Home Run Dugout, a baseball entertainment complex, might be just the thing for you.

Home Run Dugout is the only venue that offers soft-toss baseball, and the opening of the new Scottsdale location near Talking Stick Resort and Casino is the first outside of the brand’s home base in Texas.

“We are thrilled to open our first location outside of Texas and can’t think of a better city or community than Scottsdale,” said Tyler Bambrick, co-founder and CEO. “Home Run Dugout offers an experience for everyone, whether you’re gathering with friends for happy hour, watching parties on game days, enjoying a night out for two, or attending a corporate event with coworkers.”

And they want to make it clear: This is not about batting cages, but about much more than that. Home Run Dugout is the idea of childhood friends Nick Hermandorfer and Bambrick, who wanted to create a place where everyone could experience the exhilaration of a home run.

What is a home run dugout?

Home Run Dugout’s greater Phoenix location will span more than 65,000 square feet and feature more than 30 batting bays, a beer garden, a mini-baseball field, a full-service restaurant and three bars.

The patented batting bays feature soft-toss pitching machines and simulated gameplay that batters of all ages and skill levels can enjoy.

The pitchers are designed to throw perfect pitches safely over the strike zone, meaning you’ll never hit a foul ball. The pitching speed is 7 mph, allowing for a safe and accessible hitting experience. Not to mention, there’s fully integrated pitching and ball recycling technology in addition to the augmented reality gameplay.

This means you can (virtually) participate in games of skill at your favorite stadiums. Each batting facility has a 20-by-12-foot screen and five TVs so players can track their stats while watching their favorite team play.

When does Home Run Dugout open in Scottsdale?

Home Run Dugout will open its batting bays at the intersection of Highway 101 and Talking Stick Way. Construction will begin in 2025.
