ROCHESTER, MN (KROC-AM News) – The Rochester Fire Department responded to a fire on deck early Thursday morning.
The fire report came less than 24 hours after emergency crews were called to a fire at a home in southwest Rochester.
Firefighters found a man in the house and initiated life-saving measures.
He was taken to a hospital by ambulance for further treatment. His name and current health condition are unknown.
Rochester Fire Department battles early morning deck fire in northwest Rochester
The Thursday morning fire was reported shortly after 2:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of Bandel Court Northwest.
According to a press release from the Rochester Fire Department, firefighters found the deck at the back of the house on fire and the flames were approaching the siding of the house.
During the firefight, firefighters searched the outside of the house but did not find anyone. According to the fire department, crews extinguished the fire before it could reach the interior of the house.
No injuries were reported. Officials say the fire caused significant damage to the patio and siding of the home.
The cause of the fire is unknown. Rochester police and Mayo Clinic ambulance were also on scene.
