The Driftwood Library now offers day parking passes for Oregon State Parks.

Thanks to a partnership with Oregon State Parks, the Driftwood Public Library now offers Oregon State Parks daily parking passes. These passes can be checked out for two weeks by Driftwood Public Library cardholders and allow free parking at any Oregon State Park that charges a parking fee. There are currently four passes available to the public.

Oregon State Parks do not charge an admission fee for park use, and most offer free parking. However, there are 25 state parks that charge a parking fee, and many of these parks are located along the Oregon Coast and in the Willamette Valley. Parks that charge a fee include Heceta Head State Scenic Viewpoint, Jessie M. Honeyman State Park, Cape Lookout State Park, Nehalem Bay State Park, Ecola State Park, Fort Stevens State Park, Willamette Mission State Park, and others. For a complete list of parks that require a pass, visit stateparks.oregon.gov.

People who want to check out a card will need a Driftwood Public Library card. Obtaining a card is quick and easy, and all Lincoln County residents are eligible for a library card. Simply visit the library at 801 SW Highway 101 on the second floor and fill out an application. You will also need a photo ID and, if your Lincoln County address is not on your card, proof that you live in Lincoln County. This can be as simple as a utility bill, lease, property tax return, or even first-class mail to your local address. Not sure if you qualify? Give us a call and we’ll explain everything!

The library is located on the second floor of the City Hall building at 801 SW Hwy 101 in Lincoln City, directly across from Burger King and next to McKay’s Market grocery store. The library is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information about Oregon State Parks passes or other library services, call 541-996-2277 or email (email protected).
