Amtrak is making travel along the East Coast easier and allowing you to enjoy fall and winter fun in less traffic with a new Auto Train offering that starts at just $34.

To benefit from the offer, travelers must book by August 29 and travel between September 9 and December 15, Amtrak said Travel + Leisure. The sale is only valid for northbound train journeys.

“All aboard (including your vehicle)!” Amtrak wrote in a statement obtained by T+L. “Amtrak offers its customers the opportunity to skip airport security and nearly 900 stressful miles on I-95 with discounted fares on the Auto Train.”

As part of the sale, tickets for adults in economy class start at $34 and for children ages 2 to 12 at just $17. Single room compartments are also on offer, starting at just $235 for single occupancy and $335 for double occupancy, as are private bedrooms, which start at $435 for single occupancy and $535 for double occupancy.

However, it should be noted that several blackout dates are excluded from the sale, including November 8-10, November 22-27, and November 29-December 1.

The ticket price also does not include the cost of a vehicle. This includes cars, vans and motorcycles, although the price varies depending on the type.

The Auto Train runs nonstop between Sanford, FL and Lorton, VA and takes approximately 17.5 hours. On board, passengers receive a complimentary continental breakfast prior to arriving in the coach, while travelers in private roomettes or bedrooms enjoy complimentary meals, priority boarding and a dedicated first-class attendant. Each private bedroom also includes an in-room sink, toilet and shower.

Amtrak recently changed its fare structure and offers two fare options: Value and Flex. Both options are available on the Auto Train. However, the special fare includes a 50 percent cancellation fee and second seat changes are not permitted. Cancellations made up to 120 days before departure incur a 25 percent cancellation fee for private rooms.
