Park City Performing Arts Board appoints Dr. Ember Conley as Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Park Performing Arts announced Thursday that it has appointed Dr. Ember Conley as its new Executive Director, effective August 16.

Dr. Conley has served as interim executive director since September 19 and brings with him “a wealth of experience and a passion for the performing arts,” according to the board.

With his proven track record of building high-functioning teams, Dr. Conley has been instrumental in generating momentum and enthusiasm for the performing arts in Park City, according to the board.

“Her visionary leadership has brought new energy to the organization, and her deep commitment as a strong community partner has further solidified Park City Performing Arts’ role as a trusted cultural institution for Park City,” the board said.

Under her interim leadership, Park City Performing Arts experienced a “transformative year,” which included the launch of the Concerts on the Slopes outdoor concert series and the development of a winter program at the Eccles Center.

In addition, Dr. Conley led three major initiatives:

  1. Expanded Student Outreach: Under Dr. Conley’s leadership, the organization expanded its outreach efforts throughout Summit County, providing public, private, and charter school students with greater access to the performing arts.
  2. $5 Military and Veterans Tickets: To honor and support those who have served, Dr. Conley has created a program that offers military and veterans $5 tickets to performances at the Eccles Center.
  3. Creative Aging Initiative: This program brings artists together with seniors in the community and provides opportunities for artistic engagement and collaboration.

“The Board is pleased with the continued success of Park City Performing Arts under Dr. Conley’s leadership,” said Paul Aronzon, Vice Chairman of the Board. “Her ability to inspire and lead, combined with her strategic vision for the future, makes her the ideal person to lead the organization as we continue to bring world-class performances to Park City and beyond.”

Dr. Conley expressed her enthusiasm for the role.

“I am honored to be named Executive Director of Park City Performing Arts,” said Dr. Conley. “The support from the Board and the community has been incredible, and I look forward to continuing to work with our talented team to provide exceptional cultural experiences for our audiences.”

Chairman of the Board Ari Ioannides was not involved in the contract negotiations or the salary analysis and has abstained from all discussions regarding the appointment of Dr. Conley as Executive Director.
