Overton Park Conservancy appoints Kaci Murley as new executive director

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Overton Park Conservancy has named Kaci Murley as its new executive director after Tina Sullivan announced her resignation from the post in early June.

Murley has served as the Conservancy’s deputy executive director since 2019.

Conservation officials say Murley’s leadership will help move Overton Park into its next phase.

“Memphis residents value Overton Park and the magic of the Old Forest and want to see a successful conservancy,” Murley said. “I know this work and am driven to build and maintain a strong and lasting public asset while leading an incredible team that embodies dedication to the mission every day. I love this city so much and I couldn’t be more honored to begin this new chapter.”

A group of current and former members of the Conservancy Board selected Murley from a number of applicants.

The committee felt that her love of the park and the relationships she has built over the past five years make her the ideal choice to lead the Conservancy into its next phase.

“I am grateful to leave the Conservancy in such capable hands,” says outgoing Executive Director Tina Sullivan. “Kaci hit the ground running when she joined the team in 2019, and she has gone from strength to strength since then. She has taken this organization to higher levels and has a vision for its future. She has the full trust of the staff and board and a deep love for the Overton Park community.”
