FLORIDA — If you want to enjoy Mexican cuisine in Florida, the best dishes can be found at Talavera Cocina Mexicana in Coral Gables, according to a new list.

To put together a new column showcasing the best Mexican restaurants in every state, cooking website LoveFood.com looked at user reviews, awards and accolades to find out which establishments residents flock to for their fix of tacos, fajitas and guacamole. Staff members also took into account personal experiences when compiling the list.

According to the list, Talavera Cocina Mexicana is worth a visit in South Florida.

Located a few miles south of Miami, the restaurant is named after Mexico’s famous pottery. The menu combines classic Mexican cuisine, regional street food and seasonal specialties.

“The delicious moles are made fresh daily and the grilled huaraches – homemade flatbreads made from corn mash with black bean purée, salsa verde and goat cheese – are a customer favorite,” wrote the staff at LoveFood.com.

Talavera Cocina Mexicana also appears to be highly praised in online reviews, with mole, taxos, ceviche and fries frequently mentioned.

“We started our dinner with ceviche verde as a shared appetizer. Fantastic presentation and delicious. I decided to go out on a limb and ordered the mole coloradito. It was outstanding! My wife ordered our waiter’s favorite dish – Don Guillermo – medium rare. She loved it. I had a bite – very good! Our friend loved her mole blanco,” said one Trip Advisor reviewer.
