Black Myth: Wukong offers players many different systems to improve their character’s base stats as well as their combat abilities. While additional options and attacks are useful, it is equally important to improve your base stats in order to survive the various challenges that come your way.

While using and respeccing in the skill trees can be a straightforward process to get stronger, Mind Cores can also be found and used to improve your base stats. Mind Cores can also be respecced as many times as the player wants, allowing even more freedom to try out new builds to find the perfect one.

How to find and use Mind Cores

Mind Cores are rare items that provide great buffs, which makes them quite rare. The two main methods of finding Mind Cores are Defeat bosses and buy them in shrine shops. Shrine shops have a limited supply that varies from chapter to chapter. Not every boss drops Mind Cores, but usually the main bosses of each chapter do. Mind Cores can also be found in various chests around the world and will become much more common in later chapters that way.

Once you have some Mind Cores to spend, find Xu Dog, who is used to make medicine. His icon will appear next to the shrine he is closest to in that chapter, such as the basement in Chapter 2. Speak to him and select Craft medicines and then select Heavenly Medicines. Each of these drugs can be purchased with Mind Cores to improve the stats displayed on the right side of the screen.

The option to redistribute the Mind Core

If you are not satisfied with the use of your Mind Cores, select the option Option “Redesign Heavenly Medicine” with Xu Dog to refund all your currently spent Mind Cores, just like you can do with Sparks. This will return all your Mind Cores and allow you to spend them on any stats you want.
