The Most Haunted Place in North Carolina

The experts at Visit North Carolina have published an article highlighting the most haunted places in the state. “Enjoy a spooky meal at a haunted restaurant, visit one of our famous lighthouses teeming with spiritual activity, or dare to spend the night in a haunted hotel,” they say. That certainly sounds like a fun fall activity to me.

Their pick for the most haunted place in North Carolina is the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville. “The Pink Lady is a well-known, friendly ghost that has been roaming the Omni Grove Park Inn since the 1920s,” they explain. They add that she has been sighted “as a bright pink mist or as a young woman in a pink ball gown, most commonly by children.” The Pink Lady has also been blamed for turning lights and air conditioning on and off, which seems pretty harmless to me.

If you’re traveling outside of North Carolina and looking for a haunted location, Timeout.com has a new post on the most haunted Airbnbs in America. “We scoured Airbnb’s most eclectic and spooky listings to find the most haunted Airbnbs in America, from spooky castles to eerie guest rooms to mysterious mansions,” they explain. “These spooky rentals offer charming creaky floorboards, whimsical wall paneling and vintage vibes, as well as chills, thrills and scares from spirited ghost hosts straight out of the best Halloween movies of all time.”

According to Timeout.com, the Haunted Brothel in Victor, Colorado is the most haunted place in America. According to the story, after a fire in 1899 destroyed this brothel, casino and saloon, the place was “rebuilt and carefully restored, bringing with it witty supernatural stories,” according to Timeout.com. So who is the ghost that inhabits this place? It’s not a regular of the bar. It’s a “former miner who died in a shootout.” They also say that some of the taxidermy and artwork that decorates the place are really creepy, which adds a nice spooky touch. They say this place is affordable if you come with a large group. Honestly, I wouldn’t want to stay at any of these places alone, so I say the more the merrier.
