JD VanceThe performance at a doughnut shop in Georgia wasn’t as pretty as the pastries he bought there… because he had a rather unpleasant conversation with an employee who seemed anything but impressed.
The Republican candidate for vice president was at a rally in Valdosta, Georgia, on Thursday … and stopped by Holt’s Sweet Shop, where he ordered two dozen doughnuts, followed by a crowd of journalists.
Vance placed his order… and watch the clip, because the woman at the counter immediately asks not to appear on camera. Vance specifically asks the press to edit her out of their videos.
Then JDV introduces himself to the woman: “I’m JD Vance and I’m running for Vice President.” … which didn’t exactly impress her.
He asks a few questions about the business, including how long the people behind the counter have been working there… and receives snubbed answers.
Then it’s time to pick the 24 donuts… and you’ll have to watch the clip until the end – because it sounds like Vance isn’t a huge donut fan.
Of course, politicians often raid companies like this during election campaigns, often with advance notice… but this visit seemed spontaneous, as no one there seemed to know what was going on.
It is not exactly the warm welcome that JD and his team were probably hoping for here … especially in Georgia, which Joe Biden won in 2020 by a narrow margin … and where Donald Trump hit Hillary Clinton in 2016.
This photo subject was like a box of donuts – lots of holes in the finished product!
