Key Dives, an environmentally conscious dive shop, recently reopened its doors at a new location.

After moving Bud N’ Mary’s to its new home at 85960 Overseas Highway in Islamorada, on the bay side at the Snake Creek Bridge, the store looks to continue its sustainability mission.

After opening on August 1, the shop will continue to offer daily diving, snorkeling and rentals. Opening hours will remain the same from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Founded in 2004, Key Dives has a long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability. Through its long-standing partnership with Islamorada Conservation and Restoration Education (I.CARE), Key Dives works to restore Islamorada’s coral reefs through marine debris removal, reef monitoring, and coral replanting.

Michael Goldberg, co-founder of Key Dives, remembers what the reefs looked like decades ago, and after witnessing over 95% of coral cover lost, he was inspired to co-found I.CARE with Kylie Smith.

“Conservation is at the heart of our business,” Goldberg said. “Sure, we have fun, take photos and see cool things, but we never lose sight of the most important reason why people live here in the Keys – because of our ocean, because of our coral reef.”
