Large amounts of blue-green algae have been found in Lake Needwood and Lake Frank in Rockville. Visitors to the lake are asked to avoid contact with the water. Officials said that when the algae grows in large quantities, it produces toxins that can be harmful to humans and animals. (DC News Now)

New park in Gaithersburg almost finished
Pleasant View Park in Gaithersburg is in the final stages of completion. The park is named after one of the first free black communities established after the Civil War, the Pleasant View community, and will include community gardens, a playground and a bike course. (The MoCoShow)
