On Thursday, the Ohio senator was followed by cameras as he visited Holt’s Sweet Shop in Georgia, but the store’s employees were less than enthusiastic about speaking with him.

Vance tried to make small talk with a co-worker, who quickly told him that she preferred not to be on camera.

When he tried to explain to her that he was running for Vice President of the United States, she simply replied, “Okay.”

He then tried to talk to other employees, but encountered the same lack of enthusiasm.

And somehow everything was balanced more awkward as he tried to order two dozen donuts.

“Anything. Lots of frosting here. Some sprinkles. Lots of cinnamon rolls. Just whatever makes sense,” Vance asked.

The interaction comes as Vance tries to shake off the narrative that he and his boss Donald Trump are “weird” – a label that their Democratic rivals Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have used repeatedly in recent weeks.

The clip quickly went viral and countless social media users called it completely “embarrassing.”

Award-winning producer and comedian W. Kamau Bell said that Vance’s team had failed him and should be fired because “they obviously hate you.”
