Nebraska Games and Park presents wildlife exhibit at State Fair

GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska (KSNB) – Nebraska Games and Park was well prepared for the Nebraska State Fair on Friday, featuring a large exhibit of numerous species of animals native to the state.

A 50,000-gallon aquarium with dozens of fish was set up to showcase many of the species of fish that swim in the Platte River and elsewhere.

There was also an exhibition explaining water flow and currents and play demonstrations for children.

Nebraska Game and Parks also had a waterfall exhibit with many (artificial) creatures in it. It was decorated with creatures like a mountain lion, a wild turkey, and a beaver.

Throughout the day, dozens of school classes and children toured the exhibit to learn more about the animals native to Nebraska.

“It’s great to answer questions and tell people what’s going on,” said Emma Ebito, marketing coordinator for Nebraska Game and Parks.

Ebito and her team have been building this exhibition for many months since the end of January. They are proud that it has been able to provide fun and knowledge to the children.

“It means everything,” Ebito said. “It’s so cool to be such a big attraction at the State Fair while also getting people to interact with us.”
