Tired of complaining about airports? FLL can get you a job. Here’s how to find open positions

Many of us like to complain about South Florida’s airports, but have you ever thought about working at one and maybe “being the change you want to see in the world,” as the famous saying goes?

Or maybe you’re just looking for a job to pay the bills?

Companies operating at the growing Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport are looking to fill more than 300 full-time and part-time positions and will be recruiting at a job fair. The fair is open to the public and admission is free.

More than 20 employers will be on site to recruit new employees, including FedEx Express, HMS Host, Delaware North, Quantem Aviation Services, CLEAR and Swissport USA. Delaware North is a hospitality company and HMS Host is a food service company.

Other employers hiring: Broward County Aviation Department, Sunshine Cleaning Systems, 3Sixty Duty Free & More, FEAM Aero, Hudson/AMS South Florida, Paradies Lagardere and Keolis Transit America.

Companies are looking to hire front-line to executive level staff in airline services, aircraft maintenance, hospitality, retail, ground transportation and federal agencies.

FLL’s third annual job fair will be held on August 28th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale.

The Broward County Aviation Department, which operates the airport, is co-hosting the event with various companies.

“It is important to maintain the flow of talented employees to FLL to meet the evolving needs of travelers and the growing aviation sector,” said Mark Gale, CEO/Director of Aviation for the Broward County Aviation Authority, in a statement.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is one of Broward County’s most important economic drivers and the 17th busiest airport in the U.S. by passenger volume, he noted. And it’s growing. FLL served 35.1 million passengers in 2023, up 10.8% from nearly 32 million in 2022. A fifth terminal is currently under construction at a cost of $404 million.

With the peak travel season at the end of the year – from Thanksgiving to New Year’s – fast approaching, the airport and its employers want to fill their positions as quickly as possible.

“This job fair will not only help airport companies fill open positions immediately,” Gale said, “but will also create connections between those employers and future employees.”
