French bakery and cafe plans new location in Johnson County. 3 more in the pipeline

Paris Baguette – founded in 1988 in Seoul, South Korea – sells breakfast sandwiches, French pastries, lunch dishes and coffee drinks. It is especially popular for its wide selection of cakes.

Today, according to its website, the company has offices around the world, including dozens in the United States.

There are currently none in the Kansas City area, but that will soon change.

Mike Issa, a franchisee of the company, also wants to open another location at the corner of 95th Street and Nieman Road near Oak Park Mall. That location is scheduled to open later this year.

“It’s incredible,” Issa told The Star earlier this year. “The atmosphere, the decoration, the smell of the cakes and pastries we make. … We love the concept and want to keep expanding.”

Issa opened a location in Wichita in 2022.

In addition to his location at Oak Park Mall, he wants to open two more locations in the Kansas City area.

Issa is not involved with the location at the corner of 159th Street and Metcalf Avenue. It is unclear when that location might open. The company did not immediately respond to The Star’s request for comment on Friday.

Some dishes on the Paris Baguette menu: lemon citrus layer cake, cappuccino cake, berry tart, Hawaiian jalapeno quiche and chicken salad sandwich.
