Selena Gomez thinks about returning to the world of Wizards of Waverly Place for the upcoming spin-off series on Disney Channel.

“It felt like I was back home,” said Selena diversity“I am so happy to be able to pass on this gift from my childhood that I was given to the new little ones out there.”

The pop star reprises her leading role as Alex Russo in the first episode of the new sitcom titled Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. She also serves as a producer on the series. Although she is not sure how the new show will be received, she hopes for multiple seasons.

“We don’t know, but we’ll see if people like it,” Selena said.

David Henriewho played Justin Russo in the original series and reprises the role in the spin-off series, says Wizards Beyond Waverly Place It took years of development to get it working properly.

“Selena, my wife and I spent so much time over the years drinking wine and talking about where the characters would be that at one point we looked at each other and said, ‘I think we have a show. I think we should talk to Disney about it.’ And we did. It took years of development to get it exactly where it should be,” David said.

He further said that the new show was created out of attention to detail.

“The question Selena is asked most often to this day is wizard,” said David. “It’s a show that meant a lot to a lot of people.”
