OCALA, Florida. – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a woman accused of stealing a Louis Vuitton purse from a Walmart customer’s purse earlier this week.

The alleged theft occurred around 11:40 a.m. Monday at the Walmart on Bahia Avenue in Ocala.

According to officials, the theft victim was distracted for a moment in the produce section and then the woman snatched the designer purse from her handbag.

“The victim stated that she followed the woman to the exit and noticed a purse-shaped bulge in the suspect’s shirt,” the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said, adding that the thief then ran out of the store and drove away in a black Hyundai SUV.

Investigators said they were able to identify the man listed as the registered owner of the vehicle, but not the woman who was present at the Walmart theft.
