Black Myth: Wukong places a lot of emphasis on dodging, as there is a parry, but it is tied to a specific spell. While most dodges are simple dodges to get out of the way, players can land a perfect dodge that sets you up beautifully for a counterattack.

There are many additional upgrades that players can unlock to make their perfect dodges more effective. One of these is the Vengeful Mirage upgrade. While it may take some time for players to unlock this upgrade, for those who have mastered the perfect dodge, it is definitely worth the effort.

Vengeful Spirit leaves a Illusion after you land a perfect dodge that explodes after a second. The mirage is placed where you first start the dodge animation and explodes after about a second without the player having to trigger it. Although the in-game description of this ability talks about an explosion, it may not be as big and spectacular as you think.

The explosion will emerge from the mirage, but visually it will be little more than a few sparks shooting out of the mirage in all directions, and sometimes it is not noticeable to the player depending on the distance and background. While it may not look amazing visually, Vengeful Mirage can dodge decently for an evasion upgrade and there is no limit to how many enemies it can hit.

The only trick to using this ability effectively is that you Land a perfect evasive maneuver to create the Fata Morganaand that requires dodging at the last second before an attack hits you. You know you’ve dodged perfectly because time slows down for a brief moment, similar to Evanescence. Dodging perfectly every time takes practice and is easiest against large enemies with slow attack animations. Players should practice perfect dodging as often as possible.

Overall, players should always try to get perfect dodges, and this upgrade only adds a bonus when they land. While the damage against a boss may not be great, multiple perfect dodges slowly add up during a fight, and require no additional effort outside of their usual playing style.
