Man convicted of armed robbery at Green Bay restaurant

GREEN BAY (WLUK) — Reinaldo Fuentes-Nietzsche was convicted Friday of armed robbery at the restaurant where his girlfriend worked. The owner estimated $20,000 was stolen in the robbery.

Fuentes-Nietzsche, 26, pleaded no contest to armed robbery with threat of violence on Feb. 17 at El Ranchito on South Webster Avenue. He will be sentenced on Dec. 13, court records show.

His girlfriend, Abigail Guerrero, is also charged. A hearing on her guilty plea is scheduled for September 9.

According to the prosecution, Fuentes-Nietzsche entered the store, showed a gun and told the clerk: “Give me everything right now or I’ll shoot you both on the spot!”

The owner of El Ranchito told police he estimated up to $20,000 was stolen because he filled the register with cash for people cashing checks.

Police also questioned one of the store clerks who was on duty during the robbery, Abigail Guerrero. She was with Fuentes-Nietzsche and knew he planned to rob the store “when the manager wasn’t there,” the complaint states.

“Abigail said that Reinaldo frequently brought her food in the past and knew when the boss was there and when he was leaving,” she said, according to the complaint.

She identified the weapon used in the robbery and said Fuentes-Nietzsche used the money from the robbery to buy a Mercedes, pay off some debts, buy shoes and purchase marijuana for resale.

After his arrest, Fuentes-Nietzsche confirmed that Guerrero knew about the robbery plans.

“Reinaldo told (an officer) that he felt guilty about not having any money or being unable to provide for his family. He expressed remorse and seemed to genuinely regret the robbery, as he cried during questioning and said he wished he could go back and never had done it,” the complaint states.

Fuentes-Nietzsche estimated the loot at about $13,000.
