Biloxi High School opens football season with “Meet the Indians”

BILOXI, Mississippi (WLOX) – Members of all Biloxi High School and Junior High teams showed off Friday what to expect in the 2024-2025 football season.

Performances by the band as well as the cheerleading and dance teams provided entertainment in the stands.

Each team member was called up individually and introduced to the Indians’ homeland.

Baylor Blum, a member of the Biloxi High School dance team, says, “This is the first time that the cheerleading team, dance team and band are all here, so it’s a really great experience for everyone.”

Another member of the dance team, Mattie Spiers, says: “Basically, it’s a trial run for all of us too. So it helps us all too.”

It is the enthusiasm of the cheerleaders and dancers on the sidelines that gives the Indians their energy.

Some spiritual leaders reflect on the beginning of the season.

Kiera Creel, a senior cheerleader at Biloxi High School, says, “I’m definitely going to enjoy the crowds and the smiling faces up there in the stands cheering on the Indians, even though it’s the last time.”

At the end of the evening, spectators in the stands will get a first impression of what the university team has to offer this season during a training game.

The Indians’ first game of the season will be at home next Friday against the Stone County Tomcats.
