First there was a family home in California, whose father left soon after, and then there was a Kensington Palace in the United Kingdom, which Meghan Markle had to leave soon after. Between the red and the blue, however, there was a purple: a cozy rental apartment in Toronto with a plum-colored exterior that she called home.

Although Markle currently lives in a $14 million home in Montecito and previously lived in Frogmore Cottage, that doesn’t detract from the luxury of the rental property she lived in while filming Suits.

Meghan Markle gives something back to her old home in Toronto

When Meghan Markle is in the spotlight, it is often said that she has forgotten her roots. However, the Duchess of Sussex has proven through countless actions that this is far from the truth. In fact, she is a gift that never stops giving, willingly or involuntarily. The latter was the case when her rental property was offered for the proud price of $1.39 million according to Mansion Global.

Although it can’t compete with the 18,671-square-foot mansion she now lives in, Markle’s home had three bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a beautiful terrace. Said house also received a shout-out in Prince Harry’s bestselling memoirs Spareas he looked back on his relationship with Meghan Markle, as she excitedly showed him her house and introduced him to her dogs.

It is unlikely that Markle herself had anything to do with the price increase, regardless, the Duchess has maintained her tradition of making everything she owned or owns a bestseller.

While celebrity culture is all about the latest red carpet fashion looks, Meghan Markle has combined royalty and celebrity life to serve up the ultimate “Ty (Tea)” with her standout fashion choices. Markle has truly embodied the age-old adage “Love her or hate her, you can’t ignore her” with her stranglehold on the fashion world. Despite the controversy she may cause with her interviews, what she wears in them is sure to hit the bestseller charts.

This fashion edge has allowed the Duchess of Sussex to hold her head high in the UK, where she was constantly compared to Kate Middleton. And it was probably this talent that led her to launch her own lifestyle brand. It remains to be seen, however, whether Markle will be able to spruce up her old rental home in the same way.
