A TSA Precheck registration event will be held at Lincoln Airport from August 19-23. Communications Director Rachel Barth says the in-person appointment takes about ten minutes and requires passengers to present a photo ID and be fingerprinted.

“Once you get through TSA pre-screening, you can skip the long lines,” Barth tells KLIN News. “You don’t have to take your shoes off and often you don’t even have to get your laptop out of your bag.”

The application fee is $78, and if approved, travelers receive five years of membership in the program. After the in-person application appointment, most applicants receive their Known Traveler Number within about three to five days. The KTN number must be added to airline reservations to receive TSA PreCheck benefits.

“This is a great opportunity for our passengers to speed up their security screening and improve their overall travel experience,” says Barth. “We want to make flights from LNK as convenient and stress-free as possible and this event is just one of the many ways we can achieve this.”
