An Oscar-winning masterpiece by the Coen brothers will find a new home in September.

The Coen brothers’ film classic, No country for old menwill be released on September 1st on Paramount+. “No Country for Old Men” is based on the novel of the same name by Cormac McCarthy and is about Llewelyn Moss (Josh Brolin), who discovers two million dollars in cash in a briefcase in the Texas desert. The decision to take the money ultimately becomes a dangerous game of cat and mouse, as the cold-blooded assassin Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) is pursuing Moss and will do anything to get the briefcase. The exciting thriller also stars Tommy Lee Jones, Woody Harrelson, Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Tess Harper, Barry Corbin and Stephen Root.

No country for old men is a masterpiece of suspense building, often relying on silence rather than soundtrack or score for exciting scenes. Supported by incredible performances from the impeccable cast and stunning images from legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins, No country for old men has an unquestionable claim to being the Coen brothers’ best film. The acclaimed duo won several Oscars for the film, including Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director and Best Picture. Bardem, who delivers an unforgettable portrayal of the film’s psychopathic villain, also won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. The film was also a box office hit, grossing $171.6 million worldwide.

A new Ethan Coen film is now streaming

After working on the 2018 western comedy, The Ballad of Buster ScruggsThe Coen brothers decided to split up, which dismayed many of their diehard fans. The two have not given any details about the reasons for their split, but assured their fans that it was nothing serious. However, for those who still want more from the Coens, there is a new comedy from Ethan Coen called Drive-Away Dollshas just been released on Amazon Prime Video.

According to the official synopsis Drive-Away Dolls The focus is on “Jamie, an uninhibited free spirit who is lamenting yet another breakup with his girlfriend, and her reserved friend Marian, who desperately needs to loosen up. In search of a fresh start, the two spontaneously embark on a road trip to Tallahassee, but things quickly go awry when they encounter a group of incompetent criminals along the way.” Ethan wrote the new comedy together with his wife Tricia Cooke. The film received mixed reviews, achieving a critics’ rating of 63% on Rotten Tomatoes, while the audience rating was only 36%. The film stars Margaret Qualley, Geraldine Viswanathan, Beanine Feldstein, Joey Slotnick, CJ Wilson, Colman Domingo, Pedro Pascal and Matt Damon.
