Camp Resort prepares for Labor Day and special fall events

“Daycations” possible for visitors from the Zion area

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 8, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park’s new location near Zion National Park is quickly becoming a popular destination for families from Utah, Nevada and beyond. The sprawling luxury camping, glamping and RV resort opened Memorial Day weekend and was completely sold out by July 4th.

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts operates more than 75 franchise locations in the U.S. and Canada and works in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment.

Set against a stunning mountain backdrop in Hurricane, Utah, Jellystone Park is located 30 minutes from Zion National Park, two hours north of Las Vegas and four hours south of Salt Lake City. Jellystone Park Zion is the first resort of its kind in Utah and welcomes both overnight and day guests.

The resort’s biggest attraction is a huge water zone with two large swimming pools, several giant water slides, a splash area with children’s slides and a lazy river. But the water fun doesn’t end there. There is an artificial lake with a sandy beach and a floating obstacle course.

Children can also enjoy a jumping pillow, large playground, gem mining and a variety of sports fields and games. Scheduled activities, including encounters with Yogi Bear, Boo Boo and Cindy Bear, keep the fun going all day long. Fall and Halloween-themed events on the weekend, foam parties, dance parties, wagon rides and arts and crafts round out the program.

“We are thrilled that so many families are already discovering our Jellystone Park,” said Scott Nielson, the local entrepreneur who developed and owns the resort. “As a father, I just love seeing kids and their parents having so much fun together.” Nielson added that most out-of-town families come from Salt Lake City and Las Vegas, but the park attracts guests from all over the country, with some from as far away as New York.

The camp resort offers luxury glamping cabins with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a loft, air conditioning, a skydeck accessed by a spiral staircase, a kitchen, grill, fire pit, WiFi, and linens. The skydeck roofs offer breathtaking views of the surrounding sand dunes, canyons, and mountains. RVers can take advantage of the drive-through and reverse sites, all with full hookups and plenty of space as they are designed to accommodate today’s large RVs.

According to Jellystone Park, late summer and fall are some of the most popular times of year for families to enjoy the outdoors together. “As word about Jellystone Park Zion has spread on social media, reservations have been increasing rapidly, but we still have some cabin and RV reservations available in late August, September and October,” Nielson said.

He also said that in addition to overnight guests, families vacationing in the Zion area also take advantage of the resort’s “daycation” options. Day passes to the resort are available, offering access to all of the property’s water attractions, dry attractions and daily activities. Guests can enhance their stay by renting a poolside cabana or booking a daycation pod, a mini-cabin with air conditioning, a refrigerator, TV and more so guests can recharge themselves and their devices when they need a break from the sun.
