“I don’t drink, that’s why I’m hungry”

“I don’t drink, that’s why I’m hungry”

Keith Lee believes that the Washington, DC dining scene is being affected by consumers’ high levels of alcohol consumption.

Over the weekend, Lee shared a video talking about the restaurant scene in DC. According to Lee, he had a hard time finding a restaurant because all the places were “directly geared toward alcohol” and he felt like it would be difficult for someone who doesn’t drink alcohol to find a place.

“In my opinion, all restaurants are directly geared towards alcohol,” Lee said. “If you don’t drink, the choices seem limited. I’m talking about everything. Alcohol, bottomless, topless… I don’t drink, so I’m hungry.”

Lee’s quest for the best restaurants has taken him all over the country and garnered a lot of attention, such as his trip to Atlanta. The trip to Atlanta went viral due to the numerous rules several restaurants had to follow to receive guests and Lee distributed his viral reviews, leaving the city in shambles.

The restaurant critic highlighted the rules, which include no takeout orders, limits on dining times/group sizes and fluctuating hours. Restaurants criticized include The Atlanta Breakfast Club, The Real Milk & Honey and the Old Lady Gang, owned by Kandi Burress.

Several people criticized these restaurants, forcing Lee to issue a statement asking his fans not to disparage these establishments. According to Lee, these businesses are only trying to lure customers into their stores.

“I do not support, condone or advocate the destruction of these businesses,” Lee said in one of his restaurant reviews. “Even though we personally may not have the best personal service experience, that doesn’t mean you’re going to have the same experience. It also doesn’t mean you should go on Twitter and destroy these businesses. At the end of the day, business owners are people too and you never know what people are going through.”
