Downtown Throwdown returns to Bicentennial Park

Downtown Throwdown returns to Bicentennial Park

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – Downtown Throwdown took place Saturday night at Bicentennial Park.

The event took place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

During this time, many people came together to enjoy the festivities and appreciate each other’s company.

The evening was filled with drinks, food from local restaurants and live music performances hosted by WTAP’s Hailey Lanham and Henry Groff.

Lindsey Peirsol, board chair of Downtown PKB, loves seeing how downtown changes during major events like these:

“I love seeing how everything changes when there’s a big event like Taste of Parkersburg or in this case Downtown Throwdown. As the evening goes on, you see people dancing, we eat and have fun, and you get to enjoy the local restaurants. Honestly, I think it’s one of the best nights for people to come downtown every year.”

She further elaborates on this feeling by stating:

“…at events like Downtown Throwdown, it’s such a good opportunity to come along, meet people you haven’t met before, and hear musicians you may have never heard before. I find it so energizing to be down here and see everyone having a good time and enjoying local food and local drinks, and I just encourage everyone to come along tonight or try us next year if you can’t make it this time, and keep an eye out for events.”
