The new location will be on the roof of the Graduate Auburn Hotel on West Magnolia Avenue, overlooking Jordan-Hare Stadium.

John Brandt, one of the former owners of the original supper club, told 1819 News that a new bus was designed to resemble the original shot bus. The new owners consulted Brandt on the project.

Former state Rep. Paul DeMarco was driving along U.S. Highway 280 on Saturday when he spotted the bus. He was surprised that a photo he posted on social media received thousands of views within hours.

“People enjoy nostalgia and memories of their college days,” he told 1819 News.

The original bus was used to transport patrons to and from the bar in the mid-80s, and was eventually parked near the back patio of the Supper Club, where it remained and was converted into an outdoor bar.

The War Eagle Supper Club was a place of worship for generations of Auburn University students.

The original location was 2061 South College Street in Auburn, near the current intersection of Interstate 85 and College Street. The store closed in late 2015, and in early 2016 the building was demolished to make way for mixed-use retail.

The new War Eagle Supper Club is scheduled to open this September and will offer dinner and drinks.
