Tulum, one of the fastest-growing destinations in the Mexican Caribbean, will soon have a massive new resort next to the town’s Mayan train station, and forecasts predict a huge increase in arrivals.

The brand new 352-room property is one of six new resorts opening along the 1,500-kilometer railway network, designed to provide travelers with comfortable and affordable accommodations.

But unlike some other properties along the Mayan Train Route, Tulum’s new Hotel Tulum Maya will feature state-of-the-art amenities and countless outdoor spaces, making this one of the city’s most impressive upcoming resort projects.

As interest in Tulum will skyrocket in the coming months, Here is the latest information on the new Maya Train property in Tulum.

New resort in Tulum offers easy access to Mayan Train attractions

The southern extension of the Maya Train towards Tulum is almost complete. Work on the project is expected to be completed in mid-September.

The city’s new train station will pave the way for faster and easier travel to Quintana Roo’s premier cultural and historical destination, known for its vast Mayan ruins, including the massive Tulum Archaeological Zone.

As more travelers flock to experience Tulum’s coastal atmosphere and historic charm, officials are reading the new Hotel Maya Tuluma 352-room property that rivals many of the city’s existing resorts.

Located in the new Jaguar National Park, the sprawling property enjoys a strategic location among Tulum’s main attractions.

The 4-star hotel is located just two kilometers from the new Tulum Maya train station and is just a stone’s throw from the coast and the main Mayan ruins of Tulum.

Travelers also have access to the verdant rainforests of Tulum’s newest national park, making this hotel one of the most eco-friendly in terms of design and integration into the surrounding landscape.

According to Blas Jordán, the executive overseeing construction of the new resorts, workers have planted up to 10,000 new trees around the Tren Maya Tulum hotel, creating a tranquil atmosphere that encourages guests to relax and unwind.

Mr. Jordán added that the opening of the hotel for the 7 Septemberone week before the opening of the southern section of the Maya Train.

With over 75% of the new properties already built, it is very likely that the project will be completed on time.

Although not strictly an all-inclusive resort, the massive hotel offers many of the amenities found at similarly sized resorts, including outdoor pools, bars, restaurants and a spa.

With a Mayan-inspired exterior design and fine furnishings, travelers will find many unique elements throughout the expansive property.

Guests can also enjoy a temazcal – a Mayan-style sauna – as well as a concierge service to help visitors make the most of their stay in one of the region’s most historic destinations.

The Maya Train Hotel in Tulum is one of six properties being built along the railway project. A similar, albeit smaller, property is nearing completion in Chichen Itzá. Hotels are also scheduled to open in Campeche, Palenque and Nuevo Uxmal.

Tulum will benefit massively from the new rail project, which will make getting to this coastal destination a breeze. From day trips from Cancun to longer stays, travelers are eagerly awaiting the time- and money-saving benefits of the new Mayan Train.

Although the project is still under construction, travelers can keep an eye on the official Maya Train website for information on new tickets. With demand expected to skyrocket, travelers should book in advance to secure better prices and availability.
