A new behind-the-scenes video reveals important details about the Wizards of Waverly Place Sequel show Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. The original Disney Channel series followed siblings Justin (David Henrie), Alex (Selena Gomez) and Max Russo (Jake T. Austin) as they learned to channel their magical powers from their father, who gave up his own powers to marry their mortal mother. The upcoming Wizards Beyond Waverly Placewhich will premiere on Disney Channel and Disney+ in 2024, centers on adult Justin, who has given up his magical powers to live a life as a mortal with his family.

The video reveals Selena Gomez visits the set as she prepares to film her guest role before introducing one of the show’s new stars, Janice LeAnn Brown. A new clip then shows how Brown’s stubborn and sarcastic character Billie is a perfect analogue to Alex Russo. The rest of the video reveals more about the characters and locations that will be seen throughout the show, both new and familiar.

What this new behind-the-scenes video ultimately reveals is the way The new show is essentially a remix of the original show with the Wizards of Waverly Place Cast. Of course, a replacement for Alex will have to be found, as the busy Selena Gomez will not be returning to the series as a regular cast member. However, the snippets from the video seem to show that most of the storylines will revolve around Billie and the younger characters, similar to how the original series focused on the Russo siblings, which requires a certain shift in perspective regarding the older characters.

This concerns Selena Gomez’ Wizards of Waverly Place return, as her character will have some distance from her time as a teenage rebel, which will change her perspective on her past antics in some ways, even if it is only slightly. However, this change in perspective will affect David Henrie’s role even more. While Justin Russo always followed more rules than his younger siblings, Henrie now takes over the position that his character’s father held. in the original show, which messed up the dynamic considerably.

Where Wizards Beyond Waverly Place The biggest change is the fact that Justin seems to completely reject magic in his household. While it’s likely that he’ll take on the role of teacher and guide for Billie as the season progresses, this is where he differs most from his father at the start of the season, which could lead to some interesting narrative twists if she makes a surprise appearance in his seemingly normal family life.
