Cubano’s, a popular restaurant that has served Cuban cuisine for over two decades, has permanently closed its first location at 1201 Fidler Lane in Silver Spring, according to a report from Source of the Spring.

The restaurant first opened its doors in Silver Spring in 2001. In 2020, Cubano’s opened its Bethesda location, which remains open, in the space previously occupied by Louisiana Kitchen at 4907 Cordell Ave.

The Silver Spring restaurant closed earlier this year, but the closure was listed as temporary on Google and a sign on the door indicated the restaurant would be closed until July for remodeling. Source of the Spring wrote that “the former Silver Spring location’s Instagram profile confirmed the closure via direct message.” The Instagram profile now reads “CLOSED! WE ARE NOW IN BETHESDA!”

Cubano’s no longer lists the Silver Spring location on its website. The restaurant opened its Bethesda location shortly before the Covid closures. Current hours are Sunday through Thursday from noon to 9 p.m. and Friday/Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.
