Disney has released a first video for Wizards of Waverly Place, offering behind-the-scenes footage with the series’ main cast, including David Henrie and Janice LeAnn Brown, as well as executive producer and guest star Selena Gomez.

“This is where it all started,” says Gomez, looking at the production for the first time. “We are home!”

The spin-off Wizards of Waverly Place follows adult Justin Russo (Henrie), who chooses to live a normal, mortal life with his family Giada (Mimi Gianopulos), Roman (Alkaio Thiele) and Milo (Max Matenko). When Alex Russo (Gomez) brings Billie (Brown) to his home to seek help, Justin must brush up on his magical skills to mentor the young sorceress in training and manage his everyday duties.

The first look features clips from the upcoming sitcom series and shows Alex and Billie stepping through a magical portal into Justin’s house. Billie uses her powers to make scrambled eggs on the stove herself, make a burrito appear, and more.

Also appearing in the first video is David DeLuise, who played Russo’s father Jerry in the original series. He will return to the franchise as a guest star. Taylor Cora also completes the cast as series regular Winter, who is Billie’s best friend.

Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas serve as writers and executive producers, along with executive producers Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, Gomez and Henrie. Andy Fickman directed and executive produced the pilot and will direct multiple episodes.

The series is scheduled to premiere in late 2024 on Disney Channel and Disney+. You can take a first look below.
