Top 10 at 11: Gas-powered AI, happy pills, antimony and gold are the hot news of the day

Good morning and welcome to Stockheads Top 10 at approximately just before 11am, highlighting the best (and sometimes worst) ASX stocks in morning trading using live data. The short, concise update provides an overview of the trading day and shows the stocks with the biggest percentage increases that have made announcements.

The market opens at 10:00am (Eastern Time) and data is collected at 10:15am once trading in all ASX shares has begun.

To summarize what has already happened this morning: Local markets opened higher this morning and have risen steadily to 0.37% in the first 15 minutes of the session. This is largely because Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell gave his annual speech in Jackson Hole on Friday, using big (if somewhat confusing) words, and now everyone in America is betting hard on a rate cut.

Kalina Power (ASX:KPO) a company specializing in clean energy, rose on Monday morning when it announced it has signed a letter of intent with a major U.S. data center developer to build AI-focused data centers in Alberta, Canada, that use natural gas with carbon capture. Kalina is looking to capitalize on Alberta’s data center boom and meet growing electricity demand. The company says its low-carbon energy projects are well-suited to meet that need.

Actinogen Medical (ASX:ACW) Shares also rose early Monday after the company announced an ongoing analysis of data from its Phase 2a depression trial with XanaCIDD, which it said “demonstrated consistent benefit from treatment with Xanamem on symptoms of depression across a variety of different endpoints,” which the company said supports the conclusion that a 10 mg dose of the drug is clinically active in controlling cortisol levels in the brain and has a clinically significant antidepressant effect.

Explorer for critical minerals and base metals Iltani Resources (ASX:ILT) was on a roll when it announced it would commence further exploration of its high-grade Antimony Reward deposit, part of the Herberton Project in North Queensland, where historical drilling has already returned intercepts such as 3m of 3.49% Sb from 62m and 2m of 5.51% Sb from 62m.

And Javelin Minerals (ASX:JAV) is celebrating a significant increase in the mineral resource estimate for its Coogee gold-copper project in Western Australia, which has increased by 158% to 3.65 million tonnes at 1.08 g/t Au for 126,685 ounces of gold and 1.01 million tonnes at 0.41% Cu, equivalent to 4,133 tonnes of copper metal.
