BigRentz brings former Home Depot CSO to board

Matt Schweickert has joined the board of directors of construction procurement software platform company BigRentz. He brings a deep understanding of strategy from a twenty-plus year career and positions at The Home Depot and Resident (a house of direct-to-consumer brands in the home furnishings industry), where he drove technology-enabled growth and improved operational efficiencies.

He joins the Board as BigRentz continues its efforts to transform itself into one of the construction industry’s most technologically advanced platforms. Recently, the company announced that it has already simplified the complex equipment and rental management process for 6,000 supplier partners representing 14,000 sites and customers across the country. The company plans to introduce AI-powered software solutions to drive further cost savings, break down communication silos, and operate in more industries, including human resources and financial services, to meet evolving market demands.

Schweickert’s career is characterized by his ability to scale global organizations and measurably increase profitability. Home Depot, He was simultaneously Chief Strategy Officer, Functional CFO for Technology and Chief Product & User Experience Officer. In this role, he led the strategy and implementation efforts to acquire and build The Home Depot large equipment rental business. His efforts to integrate technology and data into operations significantly improved Home Depot’s operational efficiency and customer experience. He then helped advise, scale, and drive liquidity events for several startups in the retail, technology, and home, health, and wellness sectors.

BigRentz’s The network covers 90% of the U.S. population within a 30-minute drive and offers a full range of equipment categories, including aerial work platforms such as scissor lifts, material handling equipment such as forklifts, heavy and earthmoving equipment, and cranes. In addition, the company offers construction site services, including dumpsters, generators, and light towers.
