Tony Khan says AEW Collision dressing room is “a much better place” than last year

Tony Khan has some thoughts on the changes to Collision.

Speaking to the media about the company’s creative process on Sunday following AEW All Out, Tony Khan mentioned that booking AEW’s weekly Saturday show was much easier than last year, without mentioning CM Punk by name.

Khan said:

I honestly think it’s easier to get things done behind the scenes on Collision than it was a year ago. I think it’s a much easier flow between the two shows than it was a year ago. I think the dressing room is in a lot better shape than it was a year ago. It was evident by us coming here and what happened here a year ago. I think it’s a much easier job for me because I dealt with the Collision guys last year and it’s a much easier meeting process to put the TV together than it was a year ago at this time.

Khan’s statement likely refers to CM Punk, who was fired from AEW shortly after he was involved in a backstage brawl with Jack Perry at All In last year. Punk had already returned to the company on the debut episode of Collision last year after he was involved in a backstage brawl with The Elite following All Out 2022. He has since returned to WWE, where he is currently feuding with Drew McIntyre.
