Here in Delaware County, there is no shortage of water ice flavors.

As temperatures slowly rise again, the need for water ice may not be long in coming. Fortunately, there are plenty of places in Delaware County to cool off, writes Ben Silver for Main line today.

Pop’s Homemade on Eagle Road in Havertown started as a handcart in South Philly in 1932 and is celebrating its 92nd anniversary this summer.

Owner Greg Collins has virtually every flavor imaginable, including iced coffee and pumpkin spice.

George’s Water Ice on Marshall Road in Upper Darby offers homemade water ice with spectacular texture and flavor. Try the mango.

Barone’s Water Ice and Ice Cream on Burmont Road in Drexel Hill is a cute little ice cream shop with a wide selection. The mango cherry gelati is particularly popular.

Sugaree on West Chester Pike in Newtown Square and Wayne Ave. in Wayne has expanded its offerings to 13 water ice flavors, including cherry, chocolate, pina colada and bubble gum.

Vera’s Water Ice on Saxer Ave. in Springfield offers classic water ices like Pina Colada, Banana Ripple and Butter Pecan.

Capri on Lancaster Ave. in Wayne serves water ices like Key Lime Parfait, Orange Dreamsicle, Rainbow Cake, Banana Cream Chip and more.
