The Block juror had recently revealed the surprising reason why she has now started her music career.

The famous interior designer explained in an Instagram video that she doesn’t see music as a reinvention, but rather as a long overdue return after her music career was put on hold when she became a mother.

“There are many reasons why music took a backseat for me. At first it was my family. I just wasn’t making enough money to support them,” she said in the message posted in May.

“It was about finding other sources of income… you just don’t make a lot of money.”

“Also, my kids got older and I sang when they were little. I would put them to bed, go sing and then come back and my parents would take care of them. But when my daughter was 14 or 15, she started going to parties. And I thought, ‘I think I need to be there.'”

The Block judge said that not performing “hurt” her and that it hurt so much that she couldn’t listen to music for a very long time.

“I missed it. It really hurt to listen to music, so I actually stopped listening to music for a while. I stopped playing the songs I loved. I just suppressed it because I missed it so much,” she confessed.

Shaynna shocked her fans in April when she announced that she would be releasing her “first ever” music single titled “Warrior.”

In an Instagram post, she posed at what looked like a music venue and urged her fans to “watch this place.”

“Oh the places you’ll go… with music,” she wrote in the caption of a video of herself wearing a cowboy hat and strutting through the venue.

Shaynna first showed off her secret singing talent last December when she sang “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”

She is currently starring in the 20th anniversary edition of The Block alongside fellow judges Darren Palmer and Marty Fox.
