Sean Dyche’s side have now lost both of their Premier League games this season, conceding seven goals without scoring a single goal themselves.

Signs are already pointing to Everton struggling next season, and fans are still angry with the players.

At Euston Station, fans were filmed confronting the players as they boarded the train.

While the players had to run the gauntlet to get onto the wagons, Maupay had to endure a flood of vicious insults.

The striker seemed to be reacting to the “fuck off” chants of a particular fan.

Maupay reposted the video on social media, saying: “Imagine any other job where it’s normal to be abused like this. Hanging around a train station shouting at men who are doing their best…”

Everton are bottom of the Premier League after just two games and there is chaos on and off the pitch.

“It’s a strange situation here,” said boss Sean Dyche.

“We kind of build something, and then we have to go down the hill and build it back up. What about games when it’s 0-0?

“We’ve done well when we’ve been challenged. We’ve done a great job. I reminded them of that afterward. I reminded them that this isn’t our first rodeo.

“We get written off and then we start changing the plot again. It’s a never-ending challenge at Everton.”

American businessman John Textor is confident of successfully completing the takeover of Everton after expressing his desire to sell his shares in Crystal Palace.

Textor owns a 45 percent stake in Palace, but is in talks with current Everton owner Farshad Moshiri about taking over the Toffees.

The 58-year-old digital media and entertainment entrepreneur has to sell his Palace shares because he cannot invest in two Premier League clubs at the same time.

Textor revealed his attempt to take majority control at Selhurst Park failed and now, as he turns his attention to Everton, he says there are “strong indications from qualified buyers” to sell his Palace shares.

The Toffees face Doncaster in the EFL Cup on Tuesday before hosting Bournemouth at Goodison Park on Saturday.
