Police in the Bronx are on the hunt for a gunman who shot and killed a man just a block from his home over the weekend, authorities said.
Carlos Rivera, 23, of Clay Avenue was killed at approximately 2:52 p.m. on Aug. 25 after an argument outside a residence at 265 East 176th St. in Tremont, law enforcement sources said. The nature of the argument is still unknown and is under investigation.
But the argument ended, police reported, when the suspect pulled out a gun, pointed it at Rivera and fired. At least two bullets struck Rivera in the chest.
Officials of the 46th District responded to the incident and found Rivera in serious condition. EMS transported him to Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police describe the suspect as wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants and red and black sneakers. He fled in a van.
No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
