Residents needing assistance with home repairs are invited to a workshop hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County.

The event will be held on Wednesday, August 28th from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bristol Township Municipal Building, 2501 Bath Road.

The program begins at 10:30 a.m. and the workshop covers a number of important home repairs, including updating heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, roofs, plumbing and electrical systems.

The information session is part of an effort to help residents who own and live in their own homes but may be struggling with the cost of necessary repairs.

Participants will receive information about the Bucks County Home Repair Program, which is well known and pronounced “bee chirp.”

The county’s program provides financial assistance to low- to moderate-income homeowners, providing up to $50,000 for major home improvements. Eligible improvements include roof repairs, plumbing and electrical upgrades, heating system upgrades and accessibility modifications such as ramps and grab bars.

The program can meet the needs of 120 to 150 households across the county.

The program is funded with a $10 million budget from the State of Pennsylvania’s Whole-Home Repair Program and local financial assistance funds approved by the Bucks County Commission.

The Bucks County Home Repair Program is jointly administered by Capital Access Inc. and Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County.

Citizens who would like to learn more about the assistance available can do so online on the district’s website.
