The chairman of the Defense Committee of the German Bundestag, Markus Faber, does not consider a possible use of German weapons in fighting on Russian territory in the Kursk region to be a problem, reports the Funke Media Group.
According to Faber, as soon as German weapons are delivered to Ukraine, they will become “Ukrainian weapons,” and this applies to “all weapons,” including Leopard 2 battle tanks.
“Due to the Russian attack on Ukraine, the territory of both states is a combat zone. The use of weapons is subject to the provisions of international law,” said the chairman of the Bundestag’s Defense Committee.
On August 7, Russian media reported that Ukrainian troops had entered Russian territory in the Kursk region. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the situation a “provocation,” according to the newspaper Evropeiska Pravda. The Ukrainian side has not officially commented on the events in the Kursk region.
Meanwhile, Sumy Oblast in northeastern Ukraine was subjected to a series of attacks from Russia on August 6 and 7, with the city and oblast being under an air raid alert for nearly 24 hours.

Previously, the European Commission’s foreign policy spokesman, Peter Stano, stated that Ukraine had the right to self-defence, even in the event of attacks on Russian territory.
