Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, commonly known as SeaTac) continues to experience system outages due to a possible cyberattack, inconveniencing passengers for the third day in a row.

“We are doing what we can to mitigate the impact on passengers and partner airlines,” Aviation CEO Lance Lyttle said at a press conference on Sunday. Lyttle did not say when the outages would be resolved.

Officials from Customs and Border Protection and the Transportation Security Administration said at the press conference that their systems were not affected by the potential cyberattack.

The airport posted about the possible attack on X, formerly Twitter, shortly after 9 a.m. PT on Saturday, saying it had “isolated critical systems.”

Lyttle said several systems remained offline, including email. The airport’s website was also offline as of 2:30 p.m. PT Monday.

A TSA representative posted on X suggesting that travelers check in for their flight at the airport on Monday and print their boarding passes at home, echoing previous recommendations from the airport.

Airport officials did not respond to a request for comment as of Monday afternoon.

Possible cyberattack frustrates passengers but has little impact on airlines

Two airlines that use the airport as a hub reported that their operations were only slightly affected by the outages.

Alaska Airlines told USA TODAY on Sunday that its systems were not impacted. “However, the only area where we are seeing initial impacts today is the Port of Seattle baggage sorting system. As such, we are proactively warning guests departing from Seattle not to check baggage if possible.”

Delta Air Lines said the impact on airport operations on Monday remained minimal.

Flight tracking service FlightAware reported that there were six canceled and 375 delayed flights at SeaTac on Sunday. As of 3 p.m. PT Monday, there were 177 delays and seven cancellations at the airport. It is unclear if the outages are related to the delays.
