Fogo de Chão announces first location in Ohio

Fogo de Chão, the internationally renowned restaurant from Brazil, today announced the signing of a lease to open its first location in Columbus, Ohio. The new 7,000-square-foot restaurant is scheduled to open later this year at 1425 Polaris Parkway in the Polaris Towne Center, one of the city’s largest shopping and dining destinations.

“We have long planned to expand our presence to the state of Ohio and are excited to soon share our authentic Brazilian culinary experience with the Columbus community,” said Barry McGowan, CEO of Fogo de Chão. “This city’s vibrant energy and growing food scene align with our mission to provide a comprehensive dining experience with value, variety and customization for every occasion.”

Designed in collaboration with global design agency Harrison, the new restaurant features an expansive dining room with an open churrasco grill at its center, giving guests a 360-degree view of gaucho chefs demonstrating the art of churrasco cooking by breaking down high-quality cuts of protein, carving them by hand and grilling them over an open flame, creating a delicious salty crust. The Market Table will be the centerpiece of the restaurant, offering seasonal salads, fresh superfoods, charcuterie, antipasti and more.

Each Fogo location offers guests a warm, timeless and welcoming environment that complements the respective restaurant and its local community while honoring Fogo’s authentic Southern Brazilian heritage. The new Columbus location will feature inviting common spaces throughout Bar Fogo where guests can linger and enjoy the all-day happy hour for any occasion. Dry-aged meat coolers for in-house aging will showcase delicious cuts like a 32 oz. Long-Bone Tomahawk Ribeye, aged a minimum of 42 days for full flavor.
