American Diabetes Association launches updated Food Hub

The American Diabetes Association’s updated Diabetes Food Hub offers suggestions for preparing delicious, healthy meals

The American Diabetes Association recently announced the launch of the redesigned Diabetes Food Hub. The updated platform continues to offer the popular features users have come to expect, but now they are even easier to use. The site offers assistance with meal planning, tracking nutrition goals, or finding diabetes-friendly recipes. The improved site makes the process better than ever.

“It’s important to remember that when it comes to nutrition, there is no one-size-fits-all eating pattern for people with diabetes,” said Stacey Krawczyk, MS, RD, director of nutrition and wellness at the ADA. “The new and improved Food Hub makes it easy to find healthy recipes that fit any lifestyle. There are even shopping lists, meal prep tips from nutrition experts, and more.”

In addition to links to recipes, meal planning tools and shopping list suggestions, the new website also features a blog about healthy eating for diabetics and cooking classes. The cooking classes are virtual and free. Upcoming topics include “Juicy Chicken Burgers with Green Bean Fries” on August 27 and “Baked Chicken Empanadas” on September 24. Past cooking classes are also available on the website as video.

Recipes on the website include lemon-herb chicken, grilled summer vegetables with herb dressing, grilled corn with chili and lime, and steak salad with orange.

Blog topics include shopping for seasonal produce, holiday survival guides, and plant-based eating, to name a few.

The American Diabetes Association’s Diabetes Food Hub is dedicated to empowering people with diabetes and their families through food and nutrition. The platform is the ultimate destination for diabetes-friendly recipes that are both nutritious and delicious, ensuring a meal plan that is both easy and enjoyable.
