Changi Airport, Singapore
Singapore’s main airport is on track to become the first airport in the world to introduce fully automated passenger check-in.

This process uses authentication tokens, simplifying the travel experience by eliminating the need for tickets or passports at check-in. However, travelers will still need to carry their passport for immigration clearance when traveling abroad.

Changi Airport plans to launch its automated verification system in 2024, with the first trials scheduled for August.

Zayed International Airport, Abu Dhabi
Building on its Smart Travel Project, this airport in the United Arab Emirates aims to eliminate the need for passports, ID cards and even tickets by 2025.

According to CNN, the airport is working with the national government on this initiative. The initiative is already being implemented on flights operated by partner airline Etihad.
