Popular Hibachi and Sushi Restaurant Opens New Location in Lehigh County | Eat, Drink, Shop

L. MACUNGIE TWP., Pennsylvania – A food service operation known for its freshly made sushi rolls, hibachi dishes and other Japanese specialties has expanded its presence with a third location in the Lehigh Valley area.

Bang Bang Hibachi Grill & Sushi, offering authentic Japanese cuisine, celebrated its grand opening on August 20 at 6900 Hamilton Blvd., Unit 225, in Lower Macungie Township.

The full-service restaurant, which operates next to Dollar Tree in The Shops at Trexlertown, is Bang Bang’s third location in the area.

Owner and operator Jimmy Wang opened the area’s first Bang Bang restaurant in November 2020 in the Parkway Center at 1519 Lehigh St. in Allentown.

The Lehigh Valley’s first Bang Bang Hibachi Grill & Sushi restaurant opened in 2020 at the Parkway Center on Lehigh Street in Allentown.




A second location opened in January 2022 in the Quakertown Plaza at 1465 W. Broad St. in Quakertown.

Guests at the new Bang Bang location in Trexlertown can enjoy appetizers such as fried or steamed pork dumplings, spicy edamame, fried crab rangoon, fried coconut shrimp, takoyaki balls and shu mai, as well as nigiri and sashimi such as eel, tuna, red scallop, mackerel, octopus and salmon roe.

Thirty regular sushi rolls, $4.50–$5.95, include raw varieties such as Alaska sushi, Philadelphia sushi, spicy crab and yellowtail jalapeño, as well as non-raw varieties such as Boston sushi, California sushi, sweet potato and mango.

In addition, two dozen specialty rolls, priced at $7.95–$16.95, include raw dishes such as “Soy Kingdom” (tuna, salmon, crab and avocado rolled in soy paper) and “Naruto” (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, crab meat and avocado rolled in thin cucumber slices), as well as non-raw dishes such as “Pink Lobster” (lobster in tempura, cucumber, lettuce and mayo in pink soy paper) and “Shrimp Love” (shrimp in tempura, cucumber and cream cheese, topped with cooked shrimp).

Menu items with a red pepper next to them indicate a spicy option.

Hibachi dishes prepared in the kitchen include chicken, steak, scallops, shrimp, salmon, lobster tail, noodles, vegetables and various combinations.

Hibachi platters, most under $19, include fried rice, vegetables and yum yum sauce.

Bang Bang also serves a wide variety of soups, salads and specialty drinks, including bubble tea (taro, brown sugar, coconut, matcha and more), green fruit tea (peach, passion fruit, lychee, winter melon and more) and smoothies (mango, dragon fruit, orange, mocha and more).

The Trexlertown restaurant offers a variety of seating options, including booths and low tables with chairs. It is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Info: bangbang18087.com; 610-709-8999.
