Continue to Patriot Place

The 2024 Mass Cruisers Auto Club Cruise-In car shows will be held on Thursdays in October from 4-9 p.m. in front of Bass Pro Shops at Patriot Place in Foxboro. Canned food donations are welcome when you drop off a vehicle in the main parking lot for Cruise Night. The next show is August 29, with additional dates being September 5 and 19 and October 3 and 17. Dates are subject to change depending on New England Patriots games or other events at Gillette Stadium.

New board for Rodman for Kids

Rodman for Kids, a Foxboro-based nonprofit that helps youth with resources and programs to help them grow and succeed, launched its Young Professionals Board, which recently held its first meeting. “We are so pleased to see so much enthusiastic support and dedication,” said Amy Rossman, executive director of Rodman for Kids. “The energy and ideas of the YPB are truly inspiring, and we are excited to see what each member will bring to the table to help us better fulfill our mission of supporting youth-focused organizations and the children they serve.” For more information, visit www.rodmanforkids.org.

Make sure you dig safely

In case you missed it, August 11 was National 811 Safe Digging Day. It’s a reminder for National Grid customers to call 811 before beginning any digging job, regardless of size, so underground utilities can be properly marked. There’s no cost. State law requires that 811 be contacted at least three days before any digging job begins. Four in 10 U.S. homeowners planning to dig on their property this year won’t contact 811 at least a few days in advance. That’s more than 49 million Americans putting themselves and their communities at serious risk of personal injury and utility disruption, according to National Grid. For more information or to contact 811 online, visit 811beforeyoudig.com.
