“Hacks” star Jean Smart receives an offer for his million Los Angeles home within 24 hours

Award-winning actress and “Hacks” star Jean-Marie Schneider appears to have “hacked” the real estate market after listing her stunning $5.999 million estate in Encino, California and receiving an offer – all within 24 hours.

Built a century ago, the seven-bedroom, six-bathroom property has been thoroughly modernized, creating a modern mansion full of graceful charm.

Built in 1924, the home offers a generous 8,500 square feet on a 0.81-acre lot. Located in the upscale Rancho Estates neighborhood, the home is accessed via a long gated driveway that provides maximum privacy.

Described in its description as a “private and stunning home,” the complex features both original and modern details, including a gabled roof, stone foundation, and oversized fireplace.

It also offers many large spaces ideal for those who enjoy entertaining, including a formal living room, dining area, family room and breakfast nook. A home office/media room, game room and bar are also part of the package.

The master bedroom features double closets and a large bathroom with bathtub.

The property also includes a guest house with one bedroom, one bathroom and an office. This space could be used as a shed or workshop.

Additionally, patios, wraparound verandas, a pool, a spa and a spacious pool deck offer plenty of space for entertaining and relaxing.

A large lawn provides space for children and pets to walk and run around. Several cars can be parked on the parking space or in the three-car carport.

However, interested buyers will have to hurry, as the listing says an offer was made on the house less than 24 hours after it was put on the market.

According to records, Smart, 72, and now deceased husband Richard Gillian originally purchased the home in 2002 for the relatively small sum of $1.5 million. Seven years later, they undertook “extensive” renovations to the property, including a substantial addition.

“The original house was extensively expanded and modernized in 2009 and has retained its original charm,” the listing continues.

Smart’s husband died of heart disease in 2021 at the age of 71. The actress revealed in an interview later that year that Gilliland died in the middle of filming “Hacks.”

“I still had a week of ‘Hacks’ left,” she told the New Yorker. “It was tough. I had to do a funeral scene. I was exhausted, but it was actually very funny.”

The actress further paid tribute to the way her husband, an actor, gave up his own dreams of fame to give her a path in Hollywood.

“He really sacrificed his career for me so I could take advantage of my opportunities,” she said. “Without him, I wouldn’t have any of this.”

Smart has won five Emmys and a Golden Globe throughout her career, with roles in shows such as “Mare of Easttown,” in which she starred alongside Kate Winslet; “24” and “Designing Women,” in addition to the well-received “Hacks.”

She also appeared in the 2022 film “Babylon” with Margot Robbie And Brad Pitt and “A Simple Favor” with Blake Lively and “Senior Moment”.
