Kelly’s Oyster House And Bar celebrates its first Restaurant Week

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — One of the owners of the four new restaurants participating in Fairfax City’s Summer Restaurant Week is very familiar with the annual gourmet event.

Three months ago, Bill Hamrock opened Kelly’s Oyster House and Bar on the same street as Hamrock’s Restaurant, which has participated in previous Restaurant Weeks and is doing so again this year. The difference is that this year he has two restaurants offering specials as part of the annual event.

“We’re an oyster bar, a restaurant and a sports bar,” Hammock said. “An oyster house is a place for everyone. Casual menu with lots of choices. A family of five could eat there for under $100.”

Fairfax City Restaurant Week, running Monday, September 2 through Sunday, September 8, is a joint effort of the Fairfax City Economic Development Authority, the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce and the Old Town Fairfax Business Association.

This year, 27 restaurants are participating, offering prix fixe menus at a set price of $25 for brunch or lunch and $40 for a three-course dinner. Some restaurants are also offering a two-for-$10 deal.

“Fairfax City is like a small neighborhood with a lot of different personalities,” Hamrock said. “It’s nice to be part of a small community where you can make a difference.”

Kelly’s Oyster House and Bar is located at 4069 Chain Bridge Road, just a short walk from Hamrock’s Restaurant at 3950 Chain Bridge Road in Old Town Fairfax.

Kelly’s is open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight. For more information about Kelly’s, visit their website or follow them on Facebook.
