I’m always on the lookout for top-notch sandwich shops. You can’t go wrong with these.

There are always moments in life when you crave a good sandwich and have to rely on what you have around you. I’ve long since left the big chains behind and rely on independent businesses for my food choices.

The website Delish has published a list of the best sandwich shops in each state and the shop that is considered the best in Connecticut is a local classic with New England-inspired dishes. The sandwich shop is called The Dilly Duck Shop and is located in Norwalk.

I personally have never heard of it, but I expect it’s not just a local favorite, but perhaps a national favorite as well. I checked out the restaurant to see what it was all about. The Dilly Duck Shop has been around since 2017. They make everything right out of their kitchen, including their in-house rotisserie-roasted meats, fresh salads, soups, baked goods, and more. Their cuisine is inspired by New England crafts and cuisine.

On their menu, you will find a variety of dishes including breakfast sandwiches and regular sandwiches, salads, soups, main dishes, pasta, etc. Since they were highlighted as the best sandwich shop, I took a look to see if there are any truly unique sandwiches on their menu.

While they don’t have an extensive sandwich menu, they all sound pretty spectacular. They have rotisserie roasted beef or pork, pesto chicken, salmon, tuna, a caprese, and a few more. I checked out their Instagram page and saw that they also have a number of specials that they offer on a regular basis. (Side note: whoever runs their Instagram deserves a raise)

Lists like this make me happy because they help me discover completely new places I’ve never heard of. If you plan on visiting The Dilly Duck Shop, you can find it at 666 Main Ave in Norwalk and it’s open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
